Okays - am in Cairo :-)


I have HEAPS to update on from visiting the lion park. To be honest, it was a touch disappointing. Heart breaking really.


Leaving Kwantu was hard too. Not so much for the actual place as the management are total k*** . But the volunteers and the animals and the BUSH - I shall miss the bush terribly.


Went to the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and a market today. Did a spot of shopping - perfume essence and papyrus. I got lots of papyrus. The two big pieces are of the Judgement and of Nefertari being crowned. I also have a smaller Sekhmet and Anubis, Anubis was a gift. Then I got two smaller pieces - one for myself and one for my brother with our names written in hieroglyphs. And THEN because the manager liked me, he gave me ANOTHER gift - which is a rather large piece of Ramses II being crowned. So, I think I purchased 3 in total and the rest were gifts :-)


Market shopping is interesting. I was asked if I was from the moon. If I wanted an Egyptian massage (eeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww) and all these other funny things.


Oh and apparently I am 'spicy'.

Driving in Cairo is insane. It's the only way I can describe it. There are NO rules, cars just swerve all over the road, ignore the lane markings, yell at each other. Pedestrians just walk wherever and whenever they want. Is bloody dangerous.

Tomorrow I plan to indulge in a day of spa treatments - because I can :-)


For now though, I'm about to head off have a nice long hot bath and drink some vodi - because King Jack doesn't live here *sniffs*
