So after my last blog I was in Perth for another 10 days or so. I left on Friday 29th October on a 10pm flight. The next 10 days consisted of going to the beach and just chilling out really. There wasn't really much to do so I would potter about the house and go to the shops. Its amazing I thought I would save more money but I still spent just as much.
On the Saturday we went to Lakeside to the shops and I got some pumps for going out that night, flip flops don't go down great in the city :) The boys did some shopping as well in Australias version of Top Shop, Cotton On. We then headed to Mulerloo beach to meet the big group and hung out whilst the boys played football. When we got home Gary and I cooked for about 10 people a big pot of pasta. I become Gary's Su chef in my time there which was fun especially as we know Gary is a fab cook. We didn't end up going out just drinking goon indoors. On the Sunday everyone was pretty hungover. We went to the shops in one of the boys crappy cars. In the 4 weeks I was in Perth they went through about 3 cars and they got worse and worse. When we were going to Coles one day one car conked out as we pulled into the food supermarket and we literally rolled into a parking space, it was so so funny. Anyway on the Sunday we took the car out and it broke down on route so we had to roll it to the side of the road and just ditched it :) The following week I had to sort out some bits, I posted 5kg of stuff to Sydney so my backpack would be lighter. The weather hit 32 degrees one day so I went and sunbathed in an empty park which was lovely. I made a chicken stroganoff for the household. I also went back to PeterPans and sorted out my east coast trip and Fiji. I went to Tribal Travel and checked out the prices with them. I managed to pay $1700 with Peter Pans for my east coast package and Fiji. Helped to do a bit of bartering between the 2 companies :) $1200 for the East Coast which consisted of overnight trips to Cape Trib and Port Douglas. A day trip on a sailing boat to the Great barrier reef, Magnetic Island, Scooteroo (this is a 3 hour tour on motorbikes around Agnes Water) Frazer Island- 2 night 4w drive tour, Australia Zoo and half a day surf lesson and all my accomodation. I was going from Cairns- Mission beach (1 night)- Magnetic Island (2 nights)- Airlie Beach (2 nights)- Agnes Water (2 nights)- Rainbow beach with Frazer (4 nights)- Noosa (3 nights)- Brisbane (2 nights)- Surfers Paradise (2 nights)- Byron Bay (5 nights) then onto Sydney. So the price included all the trips and all accomodation so I was chuffed. I also managed to get some discount on my Fiji pass and a free night in the Nomads Skylodge so it seemed fairly decent. The girls in the Perth PeterPans were brilliant and really helped alot and were just a good laugh. I managed to get a sweet touch and get the all inclusive package for Frazer. Normally you would pay $85 on top when you got there for taxes, national park fees and food but the girls managed to put it through under the new all inclusive package so it saved me some extra cash which is ALWAYS good.
On the Thursday night we all went out for a dinner as I was heading off. Kelly, Paul and Jeffers were heading to Sydney. It was lovely and I went for the steak option and got involved in some starters but it was an expensive night. About $50 which is alot on a backpacker budget but it was good fun and i really enjoyed it. On the Friday Gary cooked some sweet and sour beef and taught me how to make that and also spring rolls which were absolutely delicious!! I have to try and make them when I get to Sydney as it was so yummy. I said my goodbyes and headed off to the airport with Mudd. After spending the past 3-4 weeks with Gary I was really sad to leave him as I had a blast with him but more fun was coming my way...
