Wednesday 25th we headed to Nha Trang which is called the seaside party town and took about 4 hrs. On the way down from Dalat it was absolutely stunning scenary and we saw lots of mini waterfalls and mountains in the midst. We passed lots of little communities and people hard at work on the roads and in the fields. In Nha Trang we stayed at a hostel called the Blue Star which was very close to the beach but was more expensive $12. We headed for some food and tried a Vietnamese pudding. I went for a mint and chocolate mousse and Aims had a chocolate tart, they looked better then they tasted but we had to give them a go. We checked out the nightlife and it was very quiet. Honestly we saw loads of westerns here compared to other places but no one seemed to go out. Later on back at the hostel we spotted loads of these annoying little ant type things but then Aimee spotted a pair of eyes from a lizard or a snake from behind a table. Enough was enough and sleep deprived Aimee got us a different room.
We spent the next day on the beach and both got burnt-ouch. Why is it you smother yourself in suncream and end up with weird blotches?? I thought Aimee was going to flip out as we kept getting asked if we wanted fruit, books, pictures etc. After a while it was annoying but they eventually left us alone ( I think it had to do with when a woman told Aimee not to get angry after she came back again and said Aimee had told her to) FYI- If you say 'maybe later' to be polite then they come back haha. We finished up the day with some food before out next 12 hr bus ride to Hoi An, I went for a yummy veggie curry and Aimee had a sweet and sour dish. We then headed off on the sleeper bus. We had some funny characters on there and it was a real mix of Chinese, Westerners and Vietnamese. One guy just kept getting food before and during the trip and was munching the whole way there. There was a guy who kept staring at Aimee and we had a westerner couple who decided to have a lovers tiff at the back. The dude behind me made some weird swooshing noises, you meet them all I guess :) I finished my second book of the trip as well. This one was called 'The Return' and was very good. It was all about the Spanish Civil war which I never knew about.
