After passing a relaxing two days in buenos aires, we journeyed north to Rosario, a city Ben studied in years ago. Sadly, everything has changed since he was here; however, he was pleasantly rewarded by going to his favorite parilla for dinner.
Things that have changed:
2003: 2007: 2011:
0 hostels. 4. 20+
$3 steak. $5. $13
$2 wine. $7. $12
$4 haircut. $6.
$.25 alfajor. $.50. $1
$1 centro taxi. $3. $7
We went to the open-air markets and second hand clothing férias (fairs) and bought some handmade leather goods.
Argentina is known for it's leather, steak and wine. Needless to say, Ben is loving life right now.
Argentina is also known for its fashion, so Steph is looking for a new purse and is getting pampered at salons.
Rosario is home to the national flag monument. The tower is 450 feet high and is accessible by an elevator where from the top you can have a view of the city and the river Paraná. The river itself is more than 1000 miles long and starts in Brazil and passes through Iguazú, where we are headed next.
