Havent updated this thing, bu I will put in som emails I have sent so far, and will then continue to update on here:

end of first day:

quick update from thailand, I am at some dodgy internet
cafe, but they made me take off my shoes before I came in, maybe
that means its good? its blates some kind of temple. i havent payed
anyone to use the computer and I dont really know who to pay and if
im expected to pay and1 i cant see anyone around?
ahh well, enough about that. Thailand is so hot and i think i am
already a bit sunburnt. about 35 degrees i think? and getting
hotter.
at the moment it seems that my work is basically riding elephants
and sleeping. This
morning I had to get up at 6.30 and i had had
like no sleep (6.30 is 11.30pm english time) walk to the dry forest
and ride an elephant back to the centre. riding elephants is good,
but if you have ever done bareback horseriding you might have some
idea of the pain i am feeling right now! we fed them then went back
for breakfast and sleep, then we went back fed them again and
cleaned up some poo then went back for more sleep and some lunch,
then rode them to the river and cleaned them and stuff, then all of
the volunteers sat in the river drinking beers, although we arent
supposed to tell anyone about that! its a lot of fun! All the other
volunteers are really nice and friendly, but I'm still very shy and
havent really said much to them. One of them said she would come
with me to the interent
but then decided she didnt want to and now
I'm a bit clueless! but yeah id better go before i get chucked off this strange
computer, back to my shack. you should actually see what I am living
in! its nice and stuff, but very very close the the outdoors. the
roof doesnt touch the walls and stuff so there is lots of outside
air and lizards keep on crawling into my room! the toilets dont have
a flush, you have to pour your own water down (but i guess its
better than a hole in the floor eh?) and the shower is cold and
quite shoddy! all of the doors are just to the
outside, there are no
hallways or anything. i quite like it, but it might get bad after a
while. food is amazing too, we have a thai chef!
so yeah, will probably email again soon if i dont get arrested for
using this computer without paying or anything!
Oh well, it has only been one day!

today (end of day 5):

Mate its so good here! And email me loads becuase I think I will go to the internet cafe every two days as I finish work at 5 and then dont have much to do till 7 when dinner is. its nice hearing from people that actually care about me and stuff! even though everyone is friendly enough, its just not like good like with you guys.

I dont know where to start telling you about what I have been up to! I have been having such a good time with the elephants, they have started to recognise me and smell me when i come to them and stuff. I can almost get on one without any help now aswell! you should ride an elephant, its so good, even though they sometimes reach for trees and make you nearly fall off! The mahoots are also starting to get to know me and now its a lot more fun, like they dont talk much english so all they do to communicate is like throw poo at us and push us in the river and stuff! its funny! the other night they took the elephant people to this karaoke bar and it was so jokes, like these thai people singing, and their muisc is so funny! I drunk loads of thai beer! then joi (a mahoot) took us to his friends house which was also some kind of bar (over here everything is strange, like totally different culture, like people are so poor and their houses are really small and shack-like and double up as restaurents or something, and they just sit around and stuff and have about a million dogs that run around in packs) so yeah we went to this place and they brought us out these little plates with food on and we started eating these things that looked like mushrooms... but then we realised they were eggs... black eggs. we asked joi about them and apparently they are 2 month old eggs called "hard boiled egg horse" so we were like ewwww but tried them as its like thai food and we wanted to be experimental... but i got home and read my thai book.... it turns out we has misheard him and apparnently they were eggs in horse urine. I nearly died! it was funny though! from nopw on i will be careful about what i eat!
the rest of that night we went back to the mahoots house and drank till like 2 and it was well good. I met a man who works at london zoo and ex girlfriend used to work at waitrose st. albans, what a small world!
the days are all pretty much the same, although the other day the head of the wildlife centre got out his baby monkey and let it play around, and it just climbed all over me and was sooo cute! it weed on me though and then decided it was a little less cute!
