Guess who was also in cairns? An old friend who I actually thought I wouldnt see, but sure enough: waiting for me when i got of the bus was mr lucas bjurström.
Had some dinner and a few beers, was cool to meet an old classmate on the wrong side of the world. But unfortunately I just have one night here. Plus the one day in cairns consists of a freaking monsoon hitting town. Haven't seen this amount of rain for a looooong time. Cairns itself is pretty awesome, even though there's not much going on during the days the nights are packed with partying and stuff to do.
Plus everything is legendary cheap, a night is easily around $15 for a good room, and that often includes free/discounted dinner. A good, big meal here is like 5 dollars... Insanely cheap!
Sucks to have to leave tomorrow, would have loved to stay a while and dive the great reef and get up to the rainforrest. There's a ton of stuff to do around cairns, but the town itself is kinda lacking in possibilities not involving drinking...
Right now I'm just waiting for the shuttle to come pick me up for the airport, and then it's off to Sydney again. Just one night and then I really have to leave. :/
So looking forward to NZ, but it's gonna be a LOT colder, which I'm NOT looking forward to. Got no idea of What to do in christchurch though, so the first few days might be slow. But after that the s*** really hits the fan!
C ya'll
In the name of king mustard!!
