Last city for me now. Milano.
I've been here two nights already now, and have got two more. I would so dearly love to go to Venice and Florence and Rome and so many other towns here that have influenced history so massively. So much culture, so exquisite architecture, so good food.
I am still living on pretty much a shoestring as usual, but here I have to try the culinary arts to some extent.
Gelato, pizza, pasta, panini... So much goodies, and actually affordable, in contrast to Switzerland. Got some tips for good food by a free tour guide, and the results were interesting... The ice cream place and bakery was about what you could expect, but Spontini pizza was not classic, thin Italian pizza.
They ask you "big or small" and what to drink. That is all. Then you get a thick, I mean really thick, crust, with about a bushel of tomatoes and enough cheese to give a small country severe cholesterol problems.
It was really good though, and you definitely got full. Plus, it took like 2 minutes to get your slices. They work really fast there. Now I just have pasta left on my list...
