We like interesting holidays that have a mix of things to do and places to go. This year we came up with the idea of a tour, not just any old tour but a 2300 mile round trip of the UK taking in the most extreme points of the UK mainland, from Lowestoft in the East of England, to Lizard Point in the South of England, to Dunnett Head in the North of Scotland, to Ardnamurchan Point in Western Scotland. What do these places have that would attract us to do this in one holiday?...they are the extreme compass points of the UK mainland.
We shall be staying at a mixture of friends, family, hotels and a Scottish Bothy and we will be reporting on not only the journey but also on the places that we stay (not friends or family as that could lead to problems!) as well as the things that we have done or seen whilst providing photographic evidence of our being places and further photos of what we have come across on our tour.
This blog will provide a warts and all commentary on not just the places we have been, but how we think the car has performed for us and how we feel following the longer journeys that we take (Liverpool to Wick 472 miles).
So thanks for reading and watch this space.
