Globe trekker
The journey from Montezuma to Mal Pais only took 2 hrs via public transport and cost only 1000 colones (that is only $2, just 1.25 pound) so cheap. Got talking to a lad from boston on the bus and we ended up sharing a room in a centrally located hotel in order to save money-and no ladies nothing happened as he was a really sweet guy but not my type.
Mal Pais is a small, sleepy beach town which has a laid back feel to it which attracts the surfers owing to its 'awesome' waves. Mal Pais and Santa Teresa (the adjoining township) is made up of great little, cheap bar/restaurants. In order to discover the town I hired a quad bike and spent the day driving around at top speed with the wind in my hair and dirt all over me having so much fun.
I really like Mal Pais as it is so small and so laid back, and has the most amazing beaches but owing to its size there is very little to do unless to are a surfer, so after just one day Ive decided to move north up the coast to another surfer beach town called Tamarindo.
Lets check it out.....
