Leaving Iguazu for buenos Aires
Yesterday we vacated our room by 10am and passed 2 hours sittiing in the shade by the pool or swimming. All was without event you may think....the trees were our shade and also hosting some very pretty birds. Damian was enjoying watching them when one of them pooped on my head..no problemo, I just went into the pool and dunked under...ahhaa, but I forgot that my glasses were on my head and of course they sank. I am blind, so I had no choice but to summon Damian to search for them. He began diving about the place, and then I stood on them...luckily they didn't break...we were both now soaking wet and giggling and had only 15mins to our pick up to fly to Buenos....so 2 dripping specimens met our driver and were deposited at the airport.
As it happened it didn't matter as there was a complete downpour like nothing I've ever seen. The plane was delayed on the runway for over an hour, but better still, we had been upgraded to first class and so had our feet up, oh and by the way other passengers had been caught in the rain so looked like drowned rats!
Arrived in Buenos at our hotel around 7pm, anad went out into the main eating area. The spanish waitress spoke very quickly and we thought we had agreed to buy a bottle of wine , and a bottle of water with our lamb casserole for two (total cost £21) The wine was good, red, 15% , the meal was excellent, and we paid the bill and said our farewells...only to be given two more bottles of wine in fancy carrier bags as we left. We have no idea why but yesterday was certainly lucky...maybe it wqs because the bird pooped on my head.
Today we have had a guided tour of the city, as you will see by the photos. We are now preparing to go to a tango show and dinner. More tomorrow x x toall

lesley It could only happen to you! It certainly brightens my day. This is getting to be addictive. Keep having fun and reporting back. Loads of love
Alex What a bargain, great meal with extra wine and an upgraded flight - heaven. It must have been the bird poo. Love the colourful properties. Taking a day off tomorrow but will probably stay at home in the warm. Still not liking the chilly weather but don't worry about me. xx
