Well the dot on the map says it all really as does the picture with this blog (which sadly I didn't take). I'm on Easter Island and very sorry to be leaving here tomorrow as it is probably one of the most amazing places I have had the priviledge to visit. Geographically it is the remotest place in the world ( also described as the navel of the world for that reason). It's just under 4000 km from mainland Chile and the nearest inhabitated place is Pitcairn Island ...

Apologies for the last blog entry as there is no spell check on this so I realised after I´d pressed the send button that there was loads of mistakes- it´s not that my brains turned to mush honestly. Well I´ve made it as far south as El Calafate in Patagonia despite Peggy breaking down yesterday and still being very poorly. It has provided an even more bizarre sight with one huge yellow mercedes truck towing another throw Argentina! Hopefully the brilliant Mercedes technician that is being flewn down here will get it fixed if not then there´ll be another plan I´m sure.
