Vienna International Airport (terminal 3) - all checked in. Very efficient. Sitting at deCanto Wine Bar & Shop. Lovely glass of wine, refreshing, even though the barmen gave me a dirty look when asked for ice.

Spanish Riding School (Lippizaners) - spent the morning watching them do their exercise routines. What magnificent animals. Lots of young ones that they were still in the process of training. Thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Elise enthralled!

House of Parliament - this building was built in the Eckectic & Neo-Githic style between 1885 & 1904. This magnificent building is a fine memento of the quest for grandeur and pomp which Hungary pursued while preparing for the Millenary Celebrations in 1896. This building is just beautiful, once again for some reason reminding me of a fairytale. 365 towers, one for each day if the year.

Millenary Monument, Heroes' Square - devoted to the history of Hungary, depicting both kings of Hungary and princes of Transylvania. Monument was erected for the Millenary celebrations of the Hungarian State. Really beautiful square. Intricate work on the sculptures is truly incredible.

Rivalda Cafe & Restaurant - stopped for our traditional Hungarian lunch. Goulash soup, paprika chicken & "pasta", followed by a really decadent pancake filled with sultanas in liquor, smothered by chocolate sauce and cream. Bit over the top, unfortunately not one of the better meals we've had. Win some, loose some.
