Day 10
Great night sleep after having my own room for the rest time on the trip.
Early breakfast before hitting the road for Stuttgart to meet with Bessy Tools.
The landscape on the way was quite beautiful in its own right however it's hard to appreciate it after being the Swiss Alps.
We arrived in Bietigheim-Bissingen which about 30 mins north of Stuttgart. Bessy Tools relocated out of Stuttgart before WW2 because owners were concerned the city world be attacked because of its mass manufacturing capacity, turns out it was a good move.
After the meeting we were invited to lunch with some of the executives from the company, we were wined and dined at a classy restaurant in town and food was delicious!
We hit the road without a plan and ended up driving a couple of hundred kms east toward at town called Walzburg. We parked the car and walked the streets looking through the old churches and stopping for a beer at one of the many beer gardens. It's a beautiful place, spectacular really but like so many of these Villages it has similar charm to other places we had already stayed so we decided to push on to Leipzig.
Driving on the Autobahn is phenomenal to say the lest. Most cars are designed to travel at higher speeds than what's acceptable in Australia and it's awesome seeing them fly by at speeds of 250km. Fortunately enough for us our Sante fe clocks out around 190km so we can't go too fast....
We ended up covering around 500km today and by the time we arrived in Leipzig and found a hotel it was around 9pm. Lucky enough for us Europeans eat late and restaurants are open for service well into the evening. Ryan and found a great cafe serving Italian and settled in for more pasta, I think my meal was 8.50€.
Quiet night again because exhausted from driving all day.
