Another overnight train today, we were told that this would be the worst with the possibility of rats and cockroaches. Thank god there was nothing.... This time. Hoi an is a gorgeous old town and the shopping us amazing. We went to a tailors and I got 2 handmade shirts. Amazing value for money and it was very hard to be restrained when everyone around was getting amazing pieces made. We went to a cooking class for dinner, the girl taking the class was hilarious...

Got the bus from Hoi An to Hue. Went up the steepest and most winding mountain on the way.... Petrifying. Checked into our hotel and the went for yet another painfully slow lunch. Time for another marathon bus journey to the capital city. There's a million pot holes on the way to Saigon it seems and buses don't come with suspension. I was on the back row and came off my seat quite a few times. Stopped at this big open air restaurant which was the Vietnamese version of a service station. Today we crossed the border to Vietnam. A bit of drama when our tour leader fell out with the border control but all sorted. We were staying in a border town and the difference between the countries is very clear, so many more people in Vietnam. Our hotel has a swanky shower which made us all very happy!
