After the cold and snow of the south island we left NZ for the final stop on our trip, Vanuatu.
The first few days we had in Pot Villa, Vanuatu were spent in bed with flu, but i guess we'd had a pretty good run of it health wise so couldn't complain too much. Our only worry was if we woudl be able to dive, but luckily all was well in the end and we not only manged to dive but did our advanced PADI and dive a WWII wreck to 62m!! We also did a fantastic night dive in the ship (without torches) to see flashlight fish. It was an incredible experience, there were hundred of them and the only way to describe it was like a psychedelic light show. We also snorklled and dived on Million Dollar point, were the american dumoed millions of dollars worth of surpless army gear instead of taking it home after the war.
Lunganville and the island of Santo itself was very beautiful and had the feel of a sleepy Carribean island. There were lots of left over souvenirs from the America army stay dotted all over the place. We had a couple of day trips and visted blue holes with water so bue and clear you could see right to the bottom and Champagne beach which was one of the top three beaches we have seen on this whole trip.
But at some point the fun had to end and we we bade farewell to Chris & Charlotte for the final time as we parted company for us to go to OZ and them back to the UK.
