Hi everyone!
I had a very action packed weekend, hope yours were better than mine! The exams went quite well. There were three different levels of paper depending on the childrens' abilities, and they almost all managed something. I wrote 6 papers altogether, 3 maths and 3 english. It left me 400 papers to mark over the weekend.
So all was going well and I was wondering along with my arms full of exam papers up chagga street, having had a nicesandwich and passion juice (my favourite) in the coffee shop, when I got hit from behind. By a bicycle. I flew off my feet and landed in the middle of the road, looking up to register the guy on the bike drift on past me without looking, a crowd of people staring but not helping me, and a car coming straight at me. Having heaved myself off the road I realised that I was cut all over the place, bruised more than I cared to notice, and I couldn't touch my hand. So I stumbled back to the house, at which point I had to explain to everyone that I had been hit, by a bicycle. The hit and run jokes are still coming. Needless to say the house full thought it was pretty funny. So did I actually.
After that I got the bug (because everything has to happen in one day) so by saturday I was in hospital having a malaria test (negative) and an injection to stop me being sick. Then they decided my hand was probably broken, adn strapped it up. So basically, one more successful weekend in Tanzania. I think most of you will be glad I have less than three weeks left to wreak havoc in.
I start my big climb on wednesday morning (yes, I am doing it anyway) and so I won't speak to you all again till tuesday. Then I will almost be home! I have to admit, I miss you all. It's been forever. So, I'll speak to you all again when the climb is over. Wish me luck. Think positive thoughts for me.
Lots of love xxxx
