re: Ornate sledge discovered in the Oseberg Viking shipSabine This is how the Shandur Heights in Pakistan (3800 m high) look like in July .... I miss animals here, like cows, sheep etc.
re: From train between Myrdal & GeiloMaxine Finberg Hi Anne, Morrie and I travelled on the sister ship, Azamara Journey to Asia last March. It was an amazingly beautiful medium sized ship, normally carrying about 700 passengers but on our cruise there were 570.!! Enhancing our pleasure was the company of the author of the Mad Dog series of 3, who chatted in French with Morrie novels, Terry Darlington , a bob vivant and his adorable and intelligent wife, Monica who chatted in French with Morrie. It is a difficult time healthwise for Morrie but we are enjoying life. Love Maxine.
re: Welcome to those monstrous cruise ships...Anne Tischlinger Fancy an aunt of yours having been lucky enough to live in "old Bergen", albeit post-Hanseatic League, Sabine! Would have been interesting to have known her and heard about what it was like there in the days prior to monster cruise ships...
re: First visit to NorwaySabine Tietz-Kramer I am very proud of you that you managed all this visits! Happy 40th anniversary - I didn`t know that this visit was the celebration journey! I am sure you enjoyed both - Norway and August! My aunt was born in Bergen and I always loved her stories about the "old days" over there. A very specific and somehow closed as well as proud Family Society .... She died last year at the Age of 91 yrs. We burried her in Faaborg/Fyn - Danmark, where she and her husband lived for more than 20 years. All rmemeberances came back, when I read your Report and saw the Pictures .... Thanks a lot, my dear! Sabine
