I have done a lot of travelling over the past week and a half but I am now in country number five - Brazil and taking it easy and going to spend the best part of the next month chilling out on the beach.

Rolling back a bit in time and our tour of Salar de Uyini was a bit mixed. The sights were great and I managed to get some great photos but there was a lot of time spent in the jeep driving from place to place so it was a bit tedious at times. There is also the opportunity to see some lagoons. There are red and green lagoons (due to the alge in the water). Sometimes you can be mistaken and think they are pink due to the thousands of flamingo there. I also had to give out to a french jerk (yes another frenchie) who was throwing stones at the flock of flamingos so he could get to see them fly. I swear some people on these tours expect the animals to entertain them. Idiots!!

Next stop after Uyini was a trip to Potosi. It is a quite a nice city which was a nice change from the impression that La Paz left on me. The main draw of Potosi is a chance to do a tour of the silver mines. I thought that my mild closterphobia would hinder the trip but it was fine. In parts the tunnels are small and you are on your hands and knees crawling through. Personally I felt like a bit of an arse doing it as you are basically going to look at how these people work while you walk about giving them a packet of biscuits or a bottle of orange. For the most part these guys dont have any other option but to work the mines with some of them starting as young as fourteen. The conditions there are quite severe and there is a continious cloud of dust. There was me complaining about the fact that IT had not set me up with a second monitor in work!

Right I really behind on this blog. I yet have to finish the details of my trip through Bolivia and start on my adventure in Brazil. However the boat is leaving for Rio in a few minutes so.. Also I am gone one hundred days now but doesnt feel like it at all. It is crazy how time flies by.
