so last time i left you all i was still in Bali. well i have left there now and have been in australia for the last 2 nearly 3 weeks. first stop was melbourne, i didnt like the hostel i stayed in here the people were not very friendly. but i made the most of lie in this city. I liked melbourne, it was very clean compared to other cities o the world. it was also very spread out and not consequently not very busy.
While i was here i did lots of walking aroun the city. i went up a tower to get some awesome views. i went to a casino for the firs time and it is the worlds largest one! unfortunatley i had no idea what i was doing and so didnt end up winning any money!! ha ha. I also went to st kilda, in fact i ended up spending most of my time in st kilda, it isa tlittle tourist town on outskirts of melbourne, with yeah u guessed it (whaqt would attract e there??) a nice sandy white beach and lots of palm trees. so yeah this is where i ended up spending most of my time.
following on from this i got a bus on xmas eve that took 10 hours to get to canberra whre i spent xmas with my cousins and auntie and uncle and the kids, i stayed for about 5 days and got treted like a princess, even little noah kept calling me princess jo!! ha ha. had a lot offun with the kids here, playing withtheir toys and swimming in the pool with them. despite the weather not being great i manaed to have a reat time. ate far too much, and yes it did rain all day on christmas day. managed to get my xmas dinner in on boxing day andon xmas day hd an australian xmas dinner of white snapper and ham. yum yum, was so nice to live in luxury and eat nice food, have own bedroom again etc.
my auntie and uncle live opposite a lake so i went runnig arond that most mornings and on xmas morning i managed to see my first wild kangeroo. amazin, jst hopping pastme!! the next da we went out to look for some more and we saw hundreds, just hopping around was an amazing sight. We also went to a lake and had a piucnic and hired pedalos, and found a little lake and beach in the middle of nowhere where we could swim in, was very pretty.
from here got a bus to sydney where i have spent the last week. sydney was realy good, again the weather has not been brill, but im now in north cairns so im told the weather will be better!! woo hoo.
whilei ws in sydney i did loads of things, here are a few of them: went to the sydney harbour bridge, opera house, botanical gardens. had lots of all you can eat buffets!! not good, went running arond hyde park most mornings. i went to manly beach and byron bay and did the coastal walk from byron to coogee. this had some absolutely spectacular vews. amzin!!! my fave beach ws one called tamaran beach. watched the surfers here for hours!!
while i was here i me a guy called dave from ireland who had hired a car so spent about 3 days driving around and doing lots of sightseeing with him - handy!!! we went to the olympic village, whereth olympics were held. we did a stadium tour of theANZ stadium where he opening nd closing ceremony were and where they hold the rugby worl cup and other major sporting events. went backstage here and sat in the players changig rooms, saw the media room and learnt how they look after the grass!! from here we went swimming in the olympic swimming pool. tat was quite amazing!! wethen wathed the australian water polo team play against canada.
the following day we got up really early and went on a 2 hour car jourey to the blue montains wewent on a 4 hour hike and saw sme beautiful waterfalls and views, although it rained and was very cloudy and we couldnt see anything from echo point where u are meant to have the most amazing vews!! oh well. we still had fun!!! getting attcked by leeches and covered in mud. after this we went to the aquarium and we saw loads of sharks and massive ays, im really stating to like this underwater buisiness!! lol
also spent new years eve here. was amazing. camped ot at 7.30am in the morning with the tent and lots of binliners an rain jackets in the rain to reserve a top spot to watch the firewors later that eve. was a group of 4 of us girls!! we took loads of food and drink and spent the day chillin in the park on obervatory hill by the rocks.had a fab view of th river and he bridge. watching the sky light up with that many fireowrks was amazing!! my cousin and her friends even managed tio makeit down to joinus too!! L:-)
so from here i fle up to cairns ad that is where i am now. spent yesterday being lazy aroun the lagoon in the 35 degree heat (first really hot and suny day iv had in a while) so i made the most of it. tomorrow im off to snorkle the great barrier reef and then in a few days im going to cape tribulation to go jungle sufing through the trees like a monkey!! should see lots of spiders and crepy things here too!! lol.
