Another day in paradise Well another day has come and gone and again it was eventful. Today we left Coffs Harbour with the sun shining, yes we have finally woke up with the yellow ball in the sky! We spent most of the morning abusing the free wi fi to up-date the blog. Well why not! So a few hours later we embarked on another day on the road. Our destination Bryon Bay. This is where Pete had looked forward to coming to and he wasn't let down when we arrived. On the way we stopped off for lunch (a ham roll made at the back of the van!) at a place called Ballina by the river which was really pretty. Again back on the road and we finally reached our destination.(we have driven 280km today) We headed for the lighthouse, built in 1910 this is the most easterly point of Australia's mainland and very very windy! All the way here we have seen some great views of beaches and it's been great to see such different scenarys now we are nearer the coast. We seeemed to have been staying at the same caravan parks so we enquired about their membership. For $40 it gives you discounts every time you stay with them. They also do a pre-booking service for members and with the schools being out soon it was well advised we book, especially for Xmas. Well recommended for anyone coming this time of year as not only are you fighting with other tourists but all the ozzies are now having their holidays to!So we have now booked into the Port Douglas camp site for Christmas Eve, Xmas Day and Boxing day. For Mum and Dad the address is Big 4 Glendarry Holiday Park Mowbary River Road Port Douglas Queensland 4877. We just now have 4 weeks to get there!!! The parks are great and they are well known up and down the coast so it's good to know you can stay with the same company throughout if needed. In Bryon Bay we decided to get some fresh fish for dinner. For those that know Pete, he loves his cooking and we had a lovely whole red snapper cooked with lime, chilly, garlic and parsley, who said you can't eat well when camping!! Although we have our own facilities the Big 4 camping sites have great amenities with BBQ, kitchens and dinning areas. This makes cooking things like the fish really easy as it only takes 20 minutes on the BBQ. Well recommended, for all the ones we have been to so far. After eating our gormat meal and washing it down with a nice bottle of chardonnay we returned to our van for some quiet time and blog writing!! So off to bed to get a good nigths sleep, this travelling lark is tiring!!Lou and Pete x P.s - Ali, it must be soon that your off to protect our freedom!! Can you let me know the address so I can write to you.…Keep safe and we'll see you soon x
