7am and Louise has already inspected the area outside our lodge and concluded once again the hyenas and elephants have been to see us in the night!! We are sat with our 'full English' how mad is that but the frankfurter sausages have cheese in the middle, strange but true!! All aboard for our 2 and a half hour journey to the border, we pass giraffes, zebras, and many other animals that we are yet still to comprehend. I am trying to liken it to something at home and all I can think of, is that seeing a giraffe is like pointing out another McDonald's! Eventually we make the car ferry to cross the border and we cross the Zambezi river with 4 nations on the borders...Botswana, Zambia (our destination), Namibia and Zimbabwe. Over in Namibia we could see the elephants and hippos. We were told to put our cameras away as the Zambians get angry!! We get off and duly set about gaining visas and entry......organised chaos...... Luckily our guide is well liked and well built so we dodge the demands of locals. Sidney kinda remind me of my brother from another mother (pics to follow). We pass through in great time and head towards today's camp. The amount of people and poverty is immediately striking from our journey so far...., I point out a children's centre and Louise informs me that it's an orphanage just as a small naked boy is knee deep in a puddle washing and waving too us.... #crying. The next 2 days itinerary are flexible as ' it's just us' so we head to Victoria falls..... Victoria falls DONE! We are viewing at their end of the dry season so not the spectacular waterfall people associate, however just as spectacular to us as we can see the rock formations and Zimbabwe.. (Pics) We have a coke in a bottle and head towards our camp "Zambia waterside" wow once again, but 'the be careful of crocodiles' sign don't help much...... To be continued.....
