VANG VIENG 3RD-7TH DECEMBER 2006

Vang Vieng is a beautiful small town but little Laos culture is actually seen here. It is more of a short break from traverlling and a main stop on the southeast asian backpacker circuit. It is a good place to meet people as it is full with traverllers all very laid back and friendly with plenty of bars and activitys. Tubing being the most popular activity. Virtually everyone who comes to Vang Vieng goes tubing down the Nam Song in an inflated tyre. It is a 3km trip down the river with bars set up as stop off points along the way. Bars playing music, selling drinks and food with awesome high rope swings into the water which Lewis was addicted to! Tubing was great fun!

Most the resturant bars here have their TV's blarring out all-day with movies but mainly episodes of friends playing back to back. The food and accomidation is great and as much as staying here too long would give you a head ache, it made for a nice break and we really enjoyed the four nights we stayed.
