Arrived in Cuenca via Alausi and the famous Devils nose train ride.  First of all I´ll chat about Alusi and the train ride....The day we arrived in Alausi was St Peters day! the towns festival day that is held just once a year. This was amazing luck! as the whole town had turned out for their once a year street festival. The people in this town aren´t so used to having tourists and were the nicest people we have met so far on this trip. Ever...

This was the second jungle stop of our trip, located in the Shangri La logde just outside Tena, based on the Napo river and set in the rainforrest. Today was our first of 2 visits to the Ecuadorian Amazon jungle. Here we travelled to Pimpilata a very small town and from there in open topped truck travelled into the jungle to our homestay on the Napo river, one of the Amazons 2 main tributary´s and stayed with a local Quichan family, the husband of the household was also a Sharmen. - Delfin.
