After spending 4 days in the Coramandel recovering from my mystery illness, Chilling out and recovering from a mystery illness... I had a really good chance to meet some nice people during my 'recovery' time. Here I got chatting to a really lovely Israeli couple who introduced me to another Israeli guy called Oren who like me was planning to leave Whitianga the next day for Auckland. I was 'persuaded' by all of them not to get the bus to Auckland (the long way round) but instead hitch and get the ferry which was meant to be beautiful! Now I know anyone reading this may think I was being completely mad!, hitch hiking with a stranger in a foreign country but here Hitching is pretty much common place, So in my defense I wouldn't get in a car with a dodgy geezer! and 2. Oren was quite possibly the most lovely guy i have ever met.

So we packed up our things and off we went!

Hitching from Whitianga to Coramandel town with Oren (Israli guyI met) who is LOVELY! bizarrley we were picked up by 2 single women! one of whom we later discovered was a tad tipsey and one who i think may have been better company if she had of been - ouch! From there we got the ferry to Auckland, which despite the terrible sea conditions I manged to sleep all the way though - quite an acheivement
