Louby Lou's travels round the world!!
Well here I am in Roatorua, land of geo thermal activity mud pools and geysers (the things in the ground, not the dodgy blokes!).... the sun is shining and the place is gorgeous.
Rotarua is a bit of a strange place! (Rotaruan's don't take offense!) The earths crust is so thin here, that any water in the ground is heated by the earth, this means that all over the town there are thermal mud pools spewing out hot steam and even in my hostel there were thermal pools heated natuarally to 39c . Today I visited the Ladies Geyser (in the picture below) which shoots cold water over 30 feet high, very interesting, before heading off to see a few more mud pools before going home to change in time for my Maori festival tonight and the Hangi.
