Hi!

So.... I finished uni last week and as I don't know what to do with my life, don't fancy getting a "proper" job yet and want to see something of the world before I don't have the chance... I'm going!

I have a flight booked to Sydney, Australia for the 27th August. I have my Australian working visa and am planning to work and travel in Oz for a year or so, possible head out to New Zealand before flying up to Bali and travelling over land (and sea) through Indonesia, (Bali, Borneo, Java, Sumatra) up Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and possibly a bit of China or India, depending on where the money goes!

I have my rucksack, guidebooks and sun cream ready... (but need to buy some insurance!) ... just the last little bits to gather together before setting off in to the unknown!

I'm going it alone - not too scared at the moment, but we'll see how I feel closer to my departure date!

I have a rough plan of what I want to do in Oz - start in Sydney and spend a week or so there. Fly to Cairns and work my way down the East Coast... will have to get a job on the way down, so maybe work in Brisbane or somewhere! Want to be back in Sydney for Christmas and New Year's Eve - have booked into a hostel from the 20th December! January 2009... possibly fly out to NZ from this coast for 6 weeks or so. Return to Sydney and head down to Canberra, Melbourne and go over to Tasmania to do some agricultural work - if you do farming work for 3 months the Australian Embassy give you the opportunity to extend your visa. So, depending on how much there is left to see/how much I need to earn, I may extend my visa. After Tasmania, head up to Adelaide and then central Australia to see Ayers Rock, Alice Springs etc there, before heading up to Darwin and the National Parks there. Probably get a job again in Darwin (hopefully!) Depending on time scales again, I fancy heading down the West Coast too - apparently, "real" Australia - see Perth before flying on to Bali!

We'll see if any of this happens, but that's what I want to do!
