Finland, Brugge and Manchester
Going straight from the small island of Curacao in the Caribbean to the small city of Vaasa in Finland was never going to be easy. Multiple flights with long stopovers in-between are to be expected, and the ensuing jetlag just undoes all the relaxation of the past few weeks.

Shaun and Anne left England on 11th November 2011 to embark on their journey around the world.
They completed their first leg of the journey in May 2012 by making it to South East Asia without flying. Departing England from Hull, they headed by ferry to Belgium and from there, they worked their way by train and bus through Central and Eastern Europe towards Anne's home country of Finland. They completed their first leg of the journey in May 2012 by making it to South East Asia without flying. Departing England from Hull, they headed by ferry to Belgium and from there, they worked their way by train and bus through Central and Eastern Europe towards Anne's home country of Finland. After a couple of weeks visiting Anne's friends and family, they continued on with their mission, braving the Russian and Siberian winter (with temperatures reaching as low as -40C) to make their way down through China towards South East Asia.
In late May 2012, they were forced to take their first flight of the journey, in order to cross from Singapore to Cairns in Australia. From here, they worked their way down Australia's East Coast towards Melbourne, where they are currently working and residing in order to save up for the future legs comprising of New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and the Americas, before returning to England having completed a full lap of Planet Earth!
