Up up and away!
After the adrenaline filled day on the kicking horse river lorna decided she wanted another adrenaline fix. So she booked to do paragliding (throw yourself off a mountain with a big parachute). By 10.30am lorna was on the top of a mountain being told to run off the edge with a crazy German attached to her. The first eight steps were the hardest but once she was up in the air it was a peaceful experience. After catching a few thermals the crazy German decided to do some tricks such as spinning the parachute around in circles as quickly as he could. Lorna's screams could be heard from the landing field.
Stefan decided to sit this one out hoping to do a skydive later on in the week. Lorna really enjoyed the experience, flying like a bird!
After some lunch we decided to go to the kicking horse mountain resort. We took a gondola up to the top of the mountain and from there we walked along some mountain ridges. Once again the scenery was spectacular with high snow caped peaks surrounding us.
On the way back down we stopped off at the bear refuge, where we met 'Boo' a ten year old grizzly bear. At first we couldn't see him as he was foraging high up on the ridge. Luckily as one of the 'grizzly experts' was talking to us Boo made his way down the mountain towards us. He was a big bear, we are glad we didn't meet him alone on one of our walks.
We finished off the day with a lovely meal in golden. Lorna loved her meal so much that it kept her quiet for at least five minutes! It is our last night at the ranch, we have both really enjoyed our time at this quirky little town.
With love
Stefan and Lorna xxx
