Day 33: 2/8/12
So this morning the people that were heading to Peru left. There were three of us staying another night (Marita, eirik and I) so we got up with them at 7am to say goodbye.
After that we went back to bed- I finished the hunger games! Then repacked laundry n stuff. Then Marita n Eirik called to see if I wanted lunch. We headed to subway- nice to get something we know!!
After, Eirik and I took a bus tour to the moon valley. Marita wasn't interested in going. The bus was the one that I took before with the headphones but just a different route. We were on the top of the bus and it was mad because the wires over head were really low. We had to keep ducking! There was a really low tunnel too- everyone on the top thought they were going to lose their heads!
We didn't really hear much on the tour- once again I couldn't see the things she was talking about and it was stopping and starting! We did learn that Bolivia has had nearly as many presidents as years as a republic. One guy was only president for six hours!
The moon valley was cool. It looks like huge stalagmites- big rocks! It used to be covered by lake titicaca aswell before the tetonic plates moved (or something like that!). It's right near the city so you can see all these weird rocks and houses around it!
Had a few hours to myself then in the afternoon to look up stuff on the Internet- check in times for my flight n stuff like that! I'd a few minutes then to skype home and then Marita and Eirik called to go for dinner.
We went to the same pizza place as last night. Chatting to them for a good while. They both knew people in the tragedy in Norway last year where that lunatic shot people- that was hard for them. They are heading to Miami tonight for a relaxing holiday!
We were back early from dinner. I went down to the shop for a few bits n pieces- more tissue for all these toilets with no toilet paper! So then I watched telly for a while- friends, Olympics in Spanish and some of the film Alfie!
Glad to have a few relaxing days before I head off on the next part of my trip! Tomorrow I'm heading to Salta but have to go to Santiago and buenos aired first. I'll be in Santiago airport tomorrow so may not have wifi.
Congratulations to John and Fiona getting married tomorrow- hope ye all have a great day!!
