We left Hanei and our wonderful bed and breakfast and dear hosts and headed to the next adventure.
We expected a change in the weather but not the change that we got. Torrential rain followed us all the way to Rotorua. Sometimes i thought that we would have to pull over and rest until it let up but--hey this is the 40 day trip that I mentioned in the beginning--40 days on the Ark--so we just kept plodding on and arrived in Rotorua in the late afternoon.
We had decided that we really wanted to go to this city because of the wonderful Maori heritage centre here and so that is what we did after arrival. We did a complete experience in Maori culture, visiting Te Puia and all that it had to offer.
We saw a typical village that the Maori would have inhabited, had a welcome from Maori and entertainment, ameal and a tour of the different aspects of their life. We were also at the place where the world famous Pohutu Geyser is, so we also witnessed this wonderful phenomena.
Hope you enjoy these photos of the experience.

Lori Forsyth Hi Loren, yes the rain surely poured down yesterday, didn't it? Of course we gardeners are delighted, but it is not so great for touring! Glad you enjoyed the cultural experience at Rotorua - I think they do it well. I'll enjoy following your adventures on this blog. Love, Lori
