were in poland today.. went to the salt mines which was pretty sweet.. yestrday we went to auschwich.. which was.. so .. theres no way to describe it.. driving to it you see it and you like thats huge.. even though you know they kept so many ppl there your amazed at the size.. then when you actually walk through its even bigger.. and that was just auschwich.. the smaller of the 2 main camps.. auschwich II (birkanau) was the one that was made to hold even more ppl and it was bigger then you could imagine.. and when the germans realised it was over they even burnt most of it down.. as i said theres no words to descibe the place.. auschwich is like a museum of all the camps your taken through the grounds and go into a few of the buildings and they give you the history and maps oif the sites and numbers and theres photos that the germans took of the camps and the ppl coming in and plaques on eht walls quoting ppl.. then you go upstairs and theyve got models of the place and theres this smell.. and you walk into this room ... and lengthwise on the wall is part of the room sectioned off with glass running the whole length of this giant room.. metres deep and its filled with hair.. hair that wouldnt burn when the bodies were burnt.. tonnes and tonnes and tonnes .. of hair.. an unimaginable amount and you know thats not even a small percentage of the hair that was collected.. all in buns and plaites.. and then as you go further into the room the guide explains to you that since the hair wouldnt burn.. the germans used it to make their uniforms.. and theres a uniform on the wall in another cabinet.. in other buildings were similair cases on the walls filled with thousands and thousands of shoes.. adult shoes kids shoes black shoes red shoes sandles.. everything and there were 3 cases filled so deep.. and cases for glasses, fake legs.. childrens clothing.. ppls belongings that the germans have taken.. then you get to see the living conditions .. the punishment rooms.. where ppl were shot.. and photos of thousands of ppl who had there mug shot type photos taken upon arrival.. framed with name, dob, date of arrival and date of death.. most ppl not even lasting a year.. some ppl looking so angrily into the camera, others refusing to look straight at it.. they dont even know for sure how many ppl arrived to the camps because hundreds of thousand s of ppl were taken straight to the gas chambers.. and when the germans realised theyd lost a lot of paper work and evidence was burnt.. we also went to the gas chambers and crematorium.. which was.. . .. .. theres no words to even describe it.. and it makes me tear now just thinking about it... how could so many ppl get behind this and let this happen.. from there we went to auschwich birkenau the larger of the 2 main camps.. in total there were over 40 camps.. auchwisch could gas 10 000 ppl per year while birkenau could gas 10 000 ppl per day .. its so ridiculous.. and.. many of the building at birkenau had been burnt down but you could see the chimneys of where they once were..
.. ... what to say after that.. maybe ill try a more happier topic have been to romania and budapest.. the buildings in romania are amazing.. we saw the 2nd largest building in the world.. which was huge.. and we didnt even see it all cause half of it is underground.. crazy president back in the 80s ordered it to be constructed before he was murdered.. umm budapest was okay.. having been coming down with the bus sarrs (every one on the bus has been hardcore sick for a few days ever since the start.. and mines been coming and going for a few weeks now.. but i wasknt well on our free day in budapest) ummm to update fave place - rome fave landscape - bulgaria has been beaten by slovakia fave local food - greece fave church - bulgaria (cant remember religion of it but will let you know) sad place you have to go to - auschwich umm cant think of anything else miss everyone heaps thanks so much for messages am loving htem.. and there helping with the home sickness which is terrible!! photos are still coming.. theres so many good ones to put up but since im paying for internet by the hour i dont have time to put any up.. have started sorting though so hopefully it wont be lond till i get them on here for you guys to see oh yea jakeys having a blast!! gotta blaze!! peace out xx
