Sunday 12th July and still sitting on 0 km's

Made the move to cheaper accommodation (hostel) due to the bike delay. Room is a bit small although still have wireless internet. Meeting other travelers from around the world is a bonus.

I'm getting used to using the local 'people mover' public buses. Better than walking, think I have done around thirty k's in the last two days. Good way to see the real Anchorage as it's away from the normal tourist spots.

Went to the zoo today (see attaches photos), it was a bit small but seeing the black and brown Bears made up for it.

Since I have arrived there has been a lot of smoke haze hanging about. It's from fifty six small fires from the north near Fairbanks I have been told and yes that is where I'm heading. It makes it hard to see any of the surrounding hills around Anchorage. The locals also say that this is the warmest summer for a long time, around 85F. Still having trouble converting.

Heading back to the airport tomorrow, hopefully this time I will be riding back instead of a cab.

Looking outside at the moment it looks 12.00 midway, guess I better go to bed because it's actually 11.30pm. Also had to get a new phone so if anybody wants the number send me an email.
