Hello!

This is my last blog for California. I'm flying from LAX tonight and will be arriving in Sydney on Monday morning (i'm time-travelling too, skipping a day).

No doubt i'll be bleary eyed and confused when I reach Sydney, it's a long flight with a change in Auckland. I may even get bleary eyed by the red dust - hopefully everything will still go according to plan with the flights.

On Thursday Perry took me to Venice Beach, which is famous for being a bit alternative and crazy. It certainly was, even though it was fairly quiet being a week day. It was mostly stalls and shops along a long stretch of the shoreline. There were lots of people who were bombed-out or just a bit strange. Or tourists like me! My favourite person was the most honest person on the stretch - a man singing a song asking for money to help him get drunk. To the point and a catchy tune. hehe.

Then we went along the coast to Redondo Beach and walked around its pier. We had a very yummy lunch at a Mexican Restaurant. Mexican food is good here. Overall it was quiet because everyone's at work or school! But we did drive through an area called Palos Verdes where some pretty well-off people live. There were very large, beautiful houses on the cliffs that had amazing views of the sea.

I've managed to re-pack my backpack and will be going to eat out with Jackie & Perry soon in order to finish my stay here in Long Beach! I'm really going to miss Jackie & Perry, they've been wonderful and have taken me to so many places and really looked after me. And i'll miss Barney & Wendal! I've gotten so used to their ways :-)

I'm very lucky to have family in the USA!
