Leeds United football club have called in the administrators and said the business will be sold to a group headed by chairman Ken Bates.
The move means United will be docked 10 league points immediately, ensuring relegation to League One next season.
A new firm headed by Mr Bates, already a major shareholder, will buy the club pending approval by its creditors.
Leeds have struggled financially in recent years and were facing a winding up order from HM Revenue and Customs.

Think you will be in America when you get to read this, hope you ate & drank lots on the plane! Just wanted to wish Laura a very happy birthday. I was going to send e-cards but realised after sending 2 for Danny that they are very noisy! would hate to embarrass you both all over again.. Had a lovely couple of days clearing up Leah's sick - not great when you have builders knocking walls down around you! I really am counting down the days now, can't wait too see you both & have a good cry!!

At last I've caught up with the journals, as always feel quite choked! Would love to go to New Zealand. Really mising you now, can't wait to see you both. Hope Laura has a fab birthday, we will have a drink for you on the 17th. Just spent most of the afternoon helping Carolyn look after a very sick Leah (she pooed on my jeans!)
