We only spent one day in Hue as we found it pretty boring. We took a leisurely stroll to the imperial city. We booked the bus to Hoi An for the next day which took just 4 hours.
When we arrived in Hoi An (29th November) we chilled and then found a little Vietnamese restaurant where we tried the local cuisine. I had a shrimp with garlic sauce rice dish which was amazing!
The next day (30th November) we went to explore the ancient old town of Hoi An. We got a ticket which gave us entry to 5 attractions in the town. We went to visit the old house of Quan Trang, the old house of Duc An, Phuc Kien assembly house, the Japanese covered bridge and the Hoi An Art Craft Manufacturing Workshop. While we were at the workshop we saw a traditional Vietnamese music show which was cool as they were playing with traditional wooden instruments we never knew existed! I found a cute little shop which sold souvenirs where I bought a noodle soup keyring!! I was well chuffed!!!
We strolled along the Hoai river which was stunning in the sunshine and then later went to a nice terrace bar for a refreshing drink overlooking the river. It was beaut!
We finished the day off casually watching the sunset by the river.. It was stunning!!
The next day (1st December) we had the afternoon free before we got the bus to Nha Trang. We rented out some bicycles and rode to the beach about 15 minutes away. We met Essex on the way, so we went down in convoy! We chilled for a couple of hours before going on a mission to find our first ice cream since leaving home!!! We were sad to leave Hoi An that evening as we loved our short time there. I will definitely go back again!!! It was my favourite place so far!
