A Christmas Update. Merry Christmas Everyone.
Well first of all it is great having Kath here and I hate to admit it but being spoilt with a bit of luxury. Unfortunately she has to go home tonight but we've had a great 5 days and I hope it's helped to re-charge her batteries which was definitely needed. Thank you Kath for being here.
20degrees (can't find the degrees symbol) Sud is described in Lonely Planet as the boutiquiest of boutique hotels - which is not a bad description. Maximum 30 guests, some families, other couples in quite a small area done up exquisitely in colonial, white walls, wooden furniture style - although warm and at times humid, there is usually a lovely breeze off the sea. It's half board with a changing menu of the day as well as other choices and has been so far very delicious. Not to mention afternoon tea and cake, fruit kebabs handed out in the mornings and delicious appetisers with pre-dinner drinks.
So far we've lazed on our beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, been snorkelling with dolphins (so close to them - incredible), snorkelling via speedboat to a Rock island and on a beautiful catamaran out to another island - Flat Island, to have an amazing lunch at an old ruined governors residence (see pictures) and I have done a couple of dives including one today and am planning another two tomorrow.
So very relaxed but not sure i'm ready to face the cold and dark and a bit of reality check - but excited about seeing my lovely friends who I have missed and wished I could have been there for at times, and of course seeing my family for a few days before chapter 2 of the blog commences.
