Hi All!

Its sweaty here!

Got here safe and sound - however arrived in the middle of a political rally and the taxi wouldnt take us to Koh San Road, so we had to guess the way and wanted more money than he originally quoted so we had to run away!

After that nightmare we finally found our hotel and got ready and went out for food and beer! (yes me and maria now drink beer!)

Woke up on the first day and ventured into the city with elly's map reading skills - thought we were on one road when really we were on a completely different one going to opposite way! A tuktuk driver saw our distress and offered us a lift - ELLY NEARLY DIED as we went round a roundabout at a very high speed! Then he ditched us at some traffic lights and told us it was a three min walk up the road - it wasnt. Then we got on a local bus and by the looks on their faces western people dont normally travel on the buses! The driver was nice and smiled and dropped us at the nearest tourist destination - we still didnt know where were, just knew that we were by one massive palace (there are about 30 of them in Bangkok). We then went to a market and bartered our way onto a boat down Chao Phraya river. Amazing scenary of little houses on the river! We got dropped off to have a wonder around a floating market too which was full of thai food.

Went to 'the club' last night on Koh San Road and spent the day "jet-lagged" in bed! Maria has lost her voice and elly has decided we need to barter for everything - even a small bottle of smirnoff in a club!

Planning to go to the red light district tonight and the train to Koh Samui tomorrow - will update you soon!
