Hello!
Sooo we're now in Australia and its REALLY expensive! A mars bar is 2 pounds!!!!
Bali...
The last week in Bali was lovely and sunny! We went to Jimbaran Bay in the evening and had some seafood on the beach - very nice! We got up early the next morning for our surf lesson! Its a LOT harder than I thought it would be! At one point I was instructed to sit on the beach and have a time out as I was getting 'too frustrated and tired'! All of us managed to stand up, and i definitely think we'll be sponsered by Billabong in the near future! We spent the next day travelling down to Ullawatu temple in the south and dream lands beach which was beautiful! Then the last few days in Bali were spent on Kuta beach where people literately try and sell you anything from a foot massage to a deck-chair for your head! Definitely will be going back to Bali!
Sydney!
We got to the wake up hostel on Friday morning and just spent the day relaxing before watching the royal wedding!! After seeing 'the dress' we went and got our 'goon' (rank boxed wine). We spent the saturday sight-seeing and saw the opera house, harbour bridge and botanical gardens which was good but hard with a hangover! We planned to go to Melbourne on the saturday night to stay with elly's uncle but after Els bought her ticket they sold out! So me and Maz had to catch a bus on the sunday morning but thought it wise to still go out to Kings Cross to see my friend Emily who works there. Maria was quite drunk before we got into the bar but managed to get escourted out after 20 mins!! Luckily we got her back in, and in all honesty she was not at her drunkest at all!! So then came the free drinks every 5 minutes :). Bit of mistake before an 8.30am bus as I was escourted into about 3 different taxi's at 4am before I was sure I wasnt going to be sick everywhere! Slept through my alarm so had half an hour to pack my bag and get to the coach station! After 14 hours we arrived in Melbourne...
Melbourne!
We stayed with Ellys uncle Neil for 5 nights which was great as he has a gorgeous house with limitless electricity and wifi and clean towels and food (im missing home comforts a bit!). We spent our first day walking around the city with Neil as our guide and saw all the sights including the Eureka tower which was great! I was treated to some chocolate which was amazing - i plan to eat about 6 bars of dairy milk when i get home! That night we were spoilt and taken out for a 'parmie' which is a massive chicken nugget with tomato and cheese and any topping, similar to a parmo but better! The next day we went to see the street neighbours is actually filmed on but they were filming at the time so we couldnt go up it - definitely saw Susans house though! After a pie lunch we went to the (Moet) Chandon champagne vinyard for some tasting!! Then we went to The Sanctuary zoo to see some koala's, kangaroo's and dingo's! Maria was gutted she couldnt hold one! The next few days we spent time wondering around Melbourne which I think I prefer to Sydney at the moment! Then it was time to catch our flight to Cairns...
Cairns!
We've been here for a few days just sorting out our tours and planning the trip down the east coast whilst also basking in the sun! Off to Port Douglas tomorrow for a few days so will hopefully do some more scuba diving and see some crocodiles!
Will message again soon!
Thanks again Neil, Bob and Leon for having us :)
lots of love xxx
