Hello everyone! I am now in Luang Prabang which is the old Royal capital of Laos. We travelled from Thailand across the Mekong river into Laos a couple of days ago and spent two days going down the Mekong river on a slow boat which was very realxing. The scenery was amazing, and we stopped off at a Laos village and were able to wonder around. It was all so simple and basic, but the people were very friendly even if they couldn't understand us! We stopped off overnight in a little one road village called Pakbang which was very basic, electricity between 6 and 9, no hot water and lots of bugs! But we had a nice evening with the owner of the guest house, Wan, mixing us all sorts of cocktails! All the basics and roughing it was worth it though as Luang Prabang is gorgeous! Our accomodation is lovely little huts in a little garden where we have breakfast bought to our verandas each morning, so nice! We are here for three days and have visited some handicraft villages where we shopped lots!! Tomorrow we are trekking to some waterfalls and the next day we get up early to see the monks.
