This is located on Monte Smith Hill, named for the English admiral Sir Sidney Smith, who used the site as a lookout post for keeping watch on Napoleans fleet during the French war with the Turks. The acropolis was not fortified but was a monument site with sanctuaries, large temples, public buildings and an underground cult space. The stadium dates from the 2nd century BC.
