Morning all, just arrived in the pretty quaint town of Salta in Northern Argentina. we spent the last 2 nights on night buses which was not loads of fun.....! We stopped off for 12 hours in a s*** hole called Resistencia, we did our usual, found the nearest park and had a kip ha ha. Felt pretty sad leaving the guys that we've spent the last 4 days with but that's how the whole year will be I guess.
Booked into a hostel called Terra Oculta which is really pretty, it's just under £7 per night and beer (Quilmes) is less that £3 for 2 litres.....magnificent. This town is surrounded by mountains and the bus drove in over them, looking down at the town which by all accounts was fantastic (I, Liz, was asleep)
Today we're going to the Archaelogical Museum where they have 3 preserved mummies, the story around them is supposedly astounding....will let you know! We are then going to this vegitarian restaurant for lunch (thinking of you veggies back home) and in the afternoon we are going on a cable car ride to the top of Cerro San Barnado (some cool mountain). This evening we are going out for steak as it's our last night in Argentina until August.
Our mission resumes tomorrow morning with a 7am bus to the border which takes 8 hours, then a taxi across the border, followed by and 8 hour cattle train to Uyuni in Bolivia where we will spend a day on the world famous salt flats.
Must shoot off and begin the Salta tourist trail.
Big love to you all, the travelling duo xxxx

Peter After last night, sounds like a good time to be leaving Argentina! You'll be world experts on night buses by the time you have completed this trip - quick bus ride into Sheffield will never be the same. You could produce "The Hitch-hikers Guide to Night Buses"", Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil......
