Well.....now we are in Brazil and we are back to square one on the communication front.......it turns out that our spanish was actually quite good.......Portugeuse however is a different story- So similar to Spanish yet oh so different.... Thought of the day: Why does Portugeuse have to be so same same but different (you´ll get this if you´ve been to Thailand!). Off to put on our glad rags for a night on the town in Lapa....bring on the boogie! xoxoxox

Hi Liz, I have been meaning to send you a message for, oh I don't know, at least 3-4 months but being rubbish I never got round to it. Great to hear that you will be back in a couple of weeks will be great to see you and catch up with everything that has happened here in wonderful Swindon. My biggest news is that I now live on my own in a flat above the DVD shop on North Street which James and Neil have brought and now run its brilliant!!! Sounds like you have had a fantastic time in some wonderful places but are now ready to come home to all your freinds and family and about time to as I think most of us have forgotten what you look like!! Anyway as I said will have to have a proper catch up when your back. See you soon Andy

Fact of the day: there is a monastry in Lima that has 25000 people buried in its crypts. Someone in the 1940's saw fit to dig these up and arrange the remaining bones in pretty patterns. Thought of the day: why????!!!! Why would anyone think that was a good idea?

Hi Liz,
Glad you've got your flight sorted but enjoy a bit of well earned sun worshipping first! Had a hard day today but I'll bore you with that story over a nice cuppa when you're home!! Have a safe journey home, can't wait to see you!!!
Loads of love, Kate xxxx

Thought of the day: we know the spanish for ´foreigner´ is gringo, but is it absolutlely necessary to refer to Cheryl as Gringerita on her drug prescription?! Would have been too much trouble to ask for her name? Cheryl´s advice of the day: say no to alcohol but yes to ciproflaxacilin! It has the same effect apparently, she is completely spaced out!!!! Cheryl, share please......

Woohoo for the doctors!!!!!!!Glad you guys have taken the common sense approach - no more stomach troubles or busted ankles before you get home please - I know we won't be able to see you at the homecoming but will be with you in spirit and look forward to call saying hello we are in London!!!! Enjoy lobsterfrying!!! xxxx

We are finally free!!!!! Cheryl is out of hospital and finally we can go back to the hostel and have a (oh you know we so can´t wait) hot shower! Thought of the day: are name bands, observations and changing bed sheets overrated? Fact of the day: Peruvians think so! Nonetheless the staff have been fantastic and Cheryl has thrived under their care and attention. Bring on a decent meal!!!!!
Sum :)
Hey Chez,
Hope your feeling better mate. I was just looking at your pics and read you've been in hospital! IV's not good but your coming home :) Hopefully can meet up before xmas. Hope you take it easy for rest of your trip. Liz keep an eye on her.

Cheryl update: She is much, much, much better today. The doctors are letting her out for sure tomorrow. All the drips are down, she is now on oral antibiotics and eating her yummy scrummy meals of rice and boiled chicken - mmm! We have been told though that enough is enough, time to come home. We are changing our flights to get from here to Rio de Janero, are going to get some R and R on the beach for a few weeks and will be home mid - end of October. We have mixed feelings about this abrupt change of plans but over all are very much looking foreward to seeing you all again. See you very very soon xxxxxxx

a note for you all who have heard rumours and are getting worried. Cheryl has taken up residence in a Peruvian hospital. Bless her heart she has pancreatits and salmonella to boot. She is a bit fed up but is doing well. She is being looked after well, is on a drip and IV antibiotics and we are hoping for a full recovery in a few days. She wanted you all to know she is okay and for you all not to worry (fat chance!) Seriously though she is in excellent hands, is being waited on by no less that 4 doctor specialists, has her own en suite private room (where I can stay too) and has an English TV channel to watch with continuous reruns of Gilmore Girls, ER and Smallville, what more could a poorly girl want!?

Hi Cheryl Sounds like you are having a great time. I had a cool summer and saw Johnny Depp filming Pirates of the Carribean 3! Very cool. Now back at boring school but have now finished my application for teaching in the US next July. We will wait and see........Take care and see you when I see you! Becca
