2nd March: after the overnight bus from Hanoi we decided to get off and have a break. The boys, Jake and Theo decided to carry on and reach Hoi An in one go. We checked in to a nice hotel, great service and Free internet...we like! But the best bit was its shower, you could actualy control the heat and the power and it didnt flood the WHOLE bathroom....well deserved after the night bus. We got ready and headed ou towards the old citedel and got harrassed by tuk tuks (called cyclos in vietnam) all the way. We gave in a jumped on this very small cyclo and had a ride around the old city walls. the poor guy looked throughly worn out by the end! Bought our tickets into the old city and had a wonder round, interesting but not great. The sign posts or lack of were terrible and so we had no idea what we were looking at most of the time. Headed back, had a great dinner...jacket potatoes! yum.

3rd March: We went back to the restaurant we ate dinner at (cafe on Thu wheels)and had some amazing scrambled eggs. Our bus to Hoi An was at 1 and i managed to sleep quite a bit! We arrived in Hoi An at about 6 and we were suckers yet again and stayed at the hotel we were dropped at. It was really nice and cheap but a long way out of town. We walked in to town but decided it was too far so wondered back and got motorbike taxis into town(first time ive ever been on one!) We wondered around the streets amazed at all the tailor shops every where and sussing out what we wanted made and where was best when we heard this motorbike go past and a voice yell.."GIRLSSSSssss." and then some breaks screech. It was Ed from our Ha Long Boat. We went with him to see his final fiitting of the suit he had had made and then agreed to meet in a bar later. Turned into a great evening. Jake and Theo and 2 other girls we had met tubing and few more times along the way turned up and we all headed to a pool party somewhere on the beach. We squeezed about 22 people into a 12 seater bus. It was ok party, needed more people. Fiona pushed me into the pool fully clothed. We headed back on the last free bus into town and once we were dropped off fiona and i managed to get lost since our guesthouse was so far out of town. We did eventually get back to our room when the sun was coming up.

4th March: Shopping day! Once i had emerged from bed with mixuer of a cold and a hangover :S we headed into town to get fitted! By the end of the day i had 2 coats on order and Fiona had 2 coats, a dress and a suit.
