Day Six (Australia Day)

Arrived in Alice this morning to 40degree heat in the shade and glaring sunshine. Fabulous, but very very hot. The accomodation provided is ok, if basic and somewhat resembles a hall of residance but at least it has air con!!!

The flight from Melbourne was easy, amazingly I spent the last 2 hours looking out of the window at red sand which seemed to stretch forever. I think I had forgotten just how big Australia is!

Yesterday I was treated to a flight in an open-top plane with Doug and we flew over Melbourne and the suburbs. Absolutely brilliant and like having my own private guide! I was even allowed to fly the plane for a bit (very very scary) and have decided that a pilot's licence should be on my list of things to do after I win the lottery!

I start my orientation tomorrow for two days, so hopefully I will find out all the placement details then!
