Left Bangkok early mornin bout 7. after much confusion caught our bus to the WW2 memorial cemetry for the river kwai, then took a walk across the 'bridge over the river kwai'. Caught a train on death railway then to kitti raft resort. Which consisted of a floating restaurant and accomodation on the kwai. had dinner (even Amanda ate some) we then took a long boat up the river and came back down on a bamboo raft , walked across a very rickety rope bridge ( just like the one out of indiana jones). We then went elephant trekking thru the jungle , are elephant was the only male and just went where the hell he wanted!! Then Manda fed the elephant some bananas, and fell in love with the 2 month old baby monkey, think she still has it in her rucksack now lol. after we visited a small waterfall , relaxed and took some pics.
That night we stayed aboard our floating hut on the kwai and had some beers with a danish couple while being eaten to death by mozzies.
Up ealy the next day, went to ewran waterfalls, absolutely amazing, check out the pics, we were able to swim there , there were 12 in total but only managed 6 in 90 percent humidity, went for a dip in number 2 waterfall. there were little sucker fish that loved to have a go at your toes which felt kinda weird but nice, after 10 mins of screaming, manda manged to get about 20 on 1 foot at once.
had lunch then started our epic journey south...........
3 hour bus ride back to bangkok, then got our sleeper train ( bout 40 carriages long). after eventually finding ours we were not too pleased, windows wouldnt open and we were right next to loo so smell was quite strong, after setting off we were told we were already delayed 2 hours, this was a massive understatement , a 7 hour journey took 15 hours, the train before us had derailed and was still lying upside down in the jungle when we past it. all in all was a nightmare. finally arrived in chumpon..............

Alfiyah I know I'm a couple of days late which is seamwhot naughty of me, and the fact you will now be in Eden not Sydney, my suggestion that a house in Malacoff St Marrickville has outdone itself with Christmas cheer is all but too late. I like you went in search of those pretty decorated homes and found but a few, in years past Chipping Norton had the reputation of being the place to be' with whole streets decorated so much so they had to get approval for one way traffic to accomodate the crowds alas as you say the cost of electricity seems to have dampened the glitter for many.May the New Year Bring you much joy in your new home.. and I imagine a good share of unpacking We're looking for a long weekend to accept your kind invitation.. I will be in touch LOLchat soon.
