We had been told we had a four day weekend from school, Kate was going to Bali again to see her friends, so Chrissy and I decided to go to Pangandaran for the long weekend and relax on the beach!! This was the first time I had been to Pangandaran, but Chrissy had been several times (I should have gone previously with the girls but they went the weekend after I had been in bed with flu for several days, so thought it was best to stay home).

Chrissy, Filana (Chrissy's boyfriend) I got the bus at 4:30pm on Friday and headed to Pangandaran, the bus journey is a little bit scary and a certain points you do wonder if you will make it to your finally destination, but that's the whole point of the adventure, hehe!! We made it to where we had to change the bus and got an angkot and because we were late, we chartered the angkot to take us all the way to Pangandaran, which was ok, but very uncomfortable and bumpy!! We finally arrived in Pangandaran at 11pm, so got becak to our hotel and went straight to bed.

The next morning (Saturday) we woke up late and went for breakfast, it was a gorgeous sunny day and the cafe/bar we had breakfast in over looked the beach, so could see the waves crashing onto the beach! We decided that we would go for a walk into the national park and explore the caves and secluded beaches, it was gorgeous and nice and cool walking under the trees, although the monkeys were scary and would attack if they thought you had food, so you had to keep everything in your bag and hidden! We found a white sand beach and went swimming to cool off. After the national park, we returned to the bar/cafe we had breakfast in for a late lunch and started on the beer, we were on holiday, so we were starting as we meant to go on!!!

We returned to our hotel, showered and had a nap before returning back to the bar for more beer, it was so nice to think that we wouldn't have to get up in the morning and have to return to Cirebon, we had plenty of time still to explore and relax, which we did we lots of beer that night!!

The next morning (Sunday) we got up late again and went for breakfast, we decided to stay at the beach and not go far today, we went back to the hotel and got ready and walked along the beach, we found that there were horse on the beach, so decided to go horse riding on the, it was a little scary as hadn't been on a horse since I was little, but it was great fun!! After we found a spot on the beach and sunbathed while reading a very good book (would recommend the 'Hunger Games'). A bit later we were getting a bit peckish, so we to a little food stand on the beach and had tempe and more beer, before taking a walk along the beach looking in the different shops and going to a second hand bookshop.

After our walk we head back to the hotel for a shower and to read my book before going out to the bar (it was raining, so didn't want to go to far), again there was more beer flowing and we had fun playing games, talking and having a laugh together.

The next day (Monday), Filana had contacted a friend to take us to a beach a bit further away from Pangandaran, so Filana and Chrissy went on one motorbike and I went on the back of Joe's motorbike, it was a long ride, but the journey was gorgeous, with rice paddies along the road and when we arrive at the beach, it was gorgeous too, we all went and had a drink before going to the beach, where we hired a surf board and Chrissy tried to teach me to surf, but the waves were not very good and there were lots of people around so was hard to learn in such a crowded beach. After coming out of the sea very wrinkled from being in so long, we went and had lunch, it was good food and more beer to wash it down!! We headed back to Pangandaran and on the way back I got to drive Joe's motorbike, it was great fun and I was very good at it, hehe!!

Back at the hotel we showered and went out for dinner, after dinner we went and sat on the beach drinking beer, it was such an amazing night listening to the sound of the waves, watching the stars with amazing friends, it just topped the weekend!!

On Tuesday it was time to head back to Cirebon, but not till the afternoon, so we had breakfast on the beach and wandered around the shops before Chrissy and I got ourselves tattoos (yes, they were henna ones), after that it was time to head to the bus station and return back to Cirebon!! It had been an amazing weekend away and didn't want to leave, but the time had come!!
