So after our long day to Siem Reap we finally got to our Hotel called the Green Banana. It ok, room was nice and spacious with 2 double beds and a bathroom. We plonked our bags down and headed downstairs to sort out our bus to the next stop in Cambodia, plus we sorted out visiting Angkor Wat the next day. We then hit pub street which was well known for bar/ restraunts. We were both starving by this point as we hadn't eaten a thing all day. Had a nice dinner before heading back to the Hotel for some well deserved sleep. We got to bed about 10pm.
We got up about 8.30am as we arranged to get picked up by a Tuc-Tuc to take us around the temples. We was visiting 3 different temples today which were nice, but the weather was so hot and clammy it was hard to concentrate. We walked around taking a few snaps before lining up in the cue for the peak of the Angkor Wat only to get told that we wasn't appropriately dressed as we were wearing vests. Dont know why! So we carried on having a look around before jumping on the Tuc-Tuc and heading to the next temple. We went and visited the Temple where the movie Tomb Raider was filmed which wasn't too bad as I'm sure i recognised bits from the film. After we visited that one it was time to head back to our hotel. When we got back I decided I was going to go for a run and then realised the was a gym next door. Not very good at all but went to check it out. They didn't have a running machine, only bikes and alot of weights so i paid $2 and done a little workout. A lad from Crewe was in there so I had a little chat with him about he's travels which were wuite interesting. After that I decided to have a run on the street which wasn't too bad, the heat was unbareable but fought through it. When I got back it was about 2pm and Matt had just finished watching he's film so we headed out to get lunch and find an Internet cafe to do a bit of skyping and update our blog. Later on we headed out to a restraunt that girls had told us to go to. When we had finished our meal we headed to the night markets to see what bargains we could pick up. Each stool was selling the same stuff but we eneded up getting a massage instead which was awful as it is meant to be relaxing but instead they were talking the whole way through and asking us if we want happy endings, which we didn't do. We then headed back to the Hotel to get ready and see what Pub Street was like a little bit later on in the night. We arrived at Pub Street just after 10pm and went to a bar with all graffiti on the outside, wasn't really busy but it was recommended. We sat in there for a couple of hours having a drink hoping it would pick up but it never, few people coming in and out. We watched the last 10 minutes of the Poland vs England game as it was on and then headed back to the Hotel.
The next morning we had to check out by 12pm and put our bags behind the desk as our bus travelling to Phenom Penh wasn't until midnight so a long wait. So we jumped in a Tuc-Tuc to take us to the Floating Village. When we got there we paid to jump on a boat to take us right through the floating village which was quite sad seeing how the other half live. There was a crocodile farm which had 3 crocodiles but about 10m long, very strange. We held a Python which was a very weird texture. The kid that gave you the Python was just running around with it around he's neck like it weren't there, brave little kid. We then headed back on the boat back to Tuc-Tuc driver to take us back to the Hotel. A bit later that evening we went back into pub street for dinner, but the town seemed quite busy that night. So after dinner we went back into the Graffiti bar which wasn't overly busy again but we had to wait about anyway as our bus was at 12am. Speaking to a chap in there and he told us that the Cambodian King had died in the past few days so no bars/restraunts were allowed to play any music until the 23rd October which was a let down as it seemed quite good, plus no Cambodian people were allowed to drink for a week or go into any bars. So we thought it may be boring at the next place aswell as the same thing is going to occur. So after a few beers we headed back to the Hotel to have a shower before getting on the 6 hour night bus to Phenom Penh. The night bus was quite wierd, a long seat with your back at a slight angle so Matty had problems as he's a giant. The material of the seats were horrible aswell as it was that material that you stick to, very sweaty but it was only 6 hours....onto Phnom penh
