Lisa's travels
So about to leave Cairns and have done so much whilst being here including going out nearly everynight. The Second trip i did was Uncle Brians atherton Tablelands trip. It was really great, although felt really tired because i went out the previous night. This included going to three waterfalls the boulders, millau millau, lake barine. The falls where pretty amazing. The only problem with the day was it rained constantly all day. So it was really too cold to swim anywhere.
The day after i went to cape tribulation and cooktown for three days. I really enjoyed this it included going down the daintree river and saw loads of wild crocodiles, snakes and birds. We then went on to cape tribulation which had an amazing beach. And the views where amazing. The buffet lunch we received was fantastic. The following day i went to Cooktown this is where captain cook fixed is ship for 85 days!!! Really cool little down although not much going on!!!! I went on an aboriginal rock art tour which was really interesting it was lead by a guy whos parents had lived in the caves so he had a real insight and loads of stories about the area and also explained the paintings really well.
On Sunday i went to a village called Kuranda where i took the scenic train up to the top which took 11/2 hours. We got some fantastic views of cairns and the surrounding areas. Also and amazing view of the barron falls. Once i got to Kuranda i just wandered round for a couple of hours before returing on the skyrail. This is a cable car that goes for 7 km and the views of the rainforest and the barron falls are pretty spectacular. The last descent was definately the best. The views of the ocean and the area was great.
