Hello from Vietnam,
We are in Nha Trang at the moment. Nha Trang is a big beach city with a big budget! It is really nice here with loads of fancy restaurants (not that we have seen them because we love our local Indian restaurant too much), theme parks, trendy bars, boat tours and lots of sun!
We bumped into our mate Ben who we met in Thailand (went on the trek with him in Chiang Mai), whilst wandering around the streets! We had a few dinks with him that night and also went scuba diving with him the next day. The dives were really good, went through some 'swim throughs' (underwater caves full of fish that you "swim through" to the other side) quite clostraphobic but it was really fun. We also saw a sea snake which we have never seen scubaring before so it was very exciting.
We then went off to a water park/theme park that afternoon on a big island. I (Rich) really hurt my neck on the first flume and struggled through the rest of them but it feels much better now. I had to just watch Lisa on the rollercoasters (I felt like the loser who goes to a theme park just to watch their mates on rides because they're too scared to do it themselves.)
We went on a really cool boat tour today to visit some islands and snorkling sites. The crew made a make-shift drumset out of empty buckets and a broken symbol but they were really good. They played rock versions of different national anthems/traditional/famous songs... They grabbed me and Lisa up on stage to sing Yellow Submarine with them (God Save The Queen must be a bit slow for rockers).
Then we all jumped into the sea on rubber rings and had a few glasses of wine from the 'floating bar' (a guy with a bottle of wine and some cups in a rubber ring). All in all a very good day!!
We leave the beach life tomorrow for a 2 day tour of the central highlands ending in Dalat. As always we will tell you all about it when we get there.
Bye for now!
