Flew from Bangkok to Kabi, a town that seems to have nothing going for it except as a travel node. It has an airport and the beach reports don't. Krabi has little in the way of tourist interests. We had internet booked a night at a hotel at a nearby beach resort to krab, at the nicely titled Grande Ville hostel. On the shuttle bus (25 seater with 40 people on board) we realised the internet page had been wrong and we were going to the wrong place. No worries - we'll find a place when we get off! After walking with our packs for 10 mins in sweltering heat and finding that hostels/hotes etc were 4 times the price of a taxi ride to the right hotel, it was an easy decision to take the taxi. When we finally arrived at the hotel, we found a bed bug infested room with air conditioning that did not work. A few rolm changes later and we were settled with only a few bed bugs and an average temperature setting and a toilet that kept on flushing unless you ,amualy lifted the handle after you used it. All in all an emotional day. Still, we found a KFC.

Tomorrow we go by powerboat to Ko Lanta beach resport where we have a beach bungalow. Lets hope its better.
